  • 3 Tbsp. margarine
  • 1/2 c. onion, chopped
  • 3 c. hot water
  • 1/2 tsp. thyme
  • 1 Knorr chicken bouillon cube
  • 1 small can mushrooms, drained
  • 1 c. rice
  • 1/2 tsp. salt and pepper
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 1/2 tsp. parsley

Directions

    Melt margarine in medium size frying pan.

    Saute rice and onion until rice looks pearly.
  3. 3
    Add water, spices and bouillon cube.
  4. 4
    Stir once, then cover and let cook over low heat for about 30 minutes.

    Add mushrooms about 5 minutes before rice is finished cooking.
