  • 1 qt. low-fat milk
  • 1 c. dry rice
  • 1/2 tsp. vanilla extract
  • 1/4 c. sugar
  • 1/2 c. raisins or other dried fruit
  • 1 tsp. nutmeg
  • 1 Tbsp. butter (may omit)

Directions

    Combine milk, rice, vanilla, sugar and raisins in a deep ovenproof dish.

    Sprinkle on nutmeg, dot with butter.

    Bake at 250° for 2 to 3 hours.

    Stir once or twice in the first hour, once at the last 2 hours.
