Rich Brown Steak Dinner

- 2 lb. round steak, cut into 1-inch wide slices
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1/2 tsp. pepper
- flour
- 6 medium onions, sliced
- 1/4 c. shortening
- 1 bay leaf
- 3 large potatoes, peeled and halved
- 1 can condensed tomato soup
- 1 pkg. frozen French-cut green beans
Directions

1Season meat with salt and pepper; roll in flour.

2Cook onions in hot shortening until tender, but not brown.

3Remove onions and brown meat slowly on both sides.

4Place meat in a 3-quart casserole.

5Add onions, potatoes and bay leaf.

6Pour soup on top. Cover and bake at 350° for 1 hour and 45 minutes.

7Add frozen green beans and bake 15 minutes more.
