  • 1 1/2 pkg. yeast
  • 1/2 c. warm water
  • 1/2 c. melted shortening
  • 1 c. scalded milk
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1 Tbsp. sugar
  • 2 well beaten eggs
  • 5 to 5 1/2 c. flour

Directions

    Soften yeast in warm water with sugar.

    Add milk, Crisco, eggs and salt.

    Place in greased bowl; let rise (1 hour) in warm place. Punch down; divide in half.

    Put in pan; let rise 30 minutes. Bake for 30 minutes at 350°.
