- 1 pkg. yeast
- 1/3 c. shortening
- 3 Tbsp. sugar
- 1/4 tsp. soda
- 2 1/2 c. self-rising flour
Directions

1Dissolve yeast in milk.

2Sift flour and sugar; cut in shortening.

3Mix and knead.

4Roll out into 1/4-inch thickness. Cut and brush with butter.

5Place one on top of the other and let rise for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.

6Bake at 395° for 12 to 15 minutes.
