- 200 grams Self Raising Flour
- 100 grams Butter, Unsalted
- 80 grams Caster Sugar
- 110 grams Dried Mixed Fruit, Such As Raisins, Sultanas, Cherries, Candied Mixed Peel, Etc.
- 1 whole Egg, Beaten
- 4 teaspoons Whole Milk

1Preheat oven to 200°C or 400°F.

2Sift the self raising flour into a bowl and then rub in the butter finely so it resembles fine crumbs. Add sugar, mixed fruit, beaten egg, and milk, starting with half the milk and then adding more as needed. It should mix into a stiff batter; if it is not coming together, add more milk 1 teaspoon at a time until you get the desired consistency (it won't be a wet mixture).

3Place mixture into about 10 mounds onto a lined baking sheet. If desired, sprinkle more sugar on top before baking.

4Bake for 15-20 minutes until golden brown.
