  • 1-3/4 cup flour
  • 1 tsp. baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 1 cup soft butter
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup white sugar
  • 1/2 tsp. vanilla
  • 1-1/2 cup quick oats (cooks in 1 minute)

Directions

    Sift flour with baking powder and salt.

    Cream butter and gradually add sugars, vanilla and oats.

    Add sifted mixture to make a stiff dough.

    Turn onto floured board and knead dough lightly to blend thoroughly.

    Pat or roll into 9x12-inch rectangle and cut into 1-1/2-inch squares.
