Ingredients

  • 1/2 c. sugar
  • 1/2 c. Crisco
  • 1 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 2 c. milk, scalded
  • 8 c. plain flour, sifted
  • 2 pkg. yeast
  • 1/2 c. tepid water
  • 2 eggs, beaten

Directions

    Place sugar, Crisco, and salt in a large bowl. Pour scalded milk over this and let cool.

    Then add 4 c. flour and mix well. Dissolve yeast in tepid water and add to flour mixture.

    Add remaining flour.

    Cover with greased waxed paper. Let rise until doubled (1 1/2 to 2 hours).

    Pour dough onto floured board.

    Roll out.

    Cut. Dip in melted butter.

    Place in pans to rise, about 1 hour.

    Bake at 375° for 20 to 25 minutes.

    Makes approximately 30 rolls depending on size.
