- 2 c. sweet milk, heated to lukewarm
- 1/2 c. sugar, dissolved with milk
- 1/2 c. shortening, melted
- 1 pkg. yeast, dissolved in 1/4 c. warm water
- self-rising flour
Directions

1Stir mixture in large mixing bowl.

2Stir in flour until consistency of cake batter.

3Let rise to double in bulk, 3 hours. Work down; stir in more flour until you can knead well.

4Place in refrigerator.

5Pinch off amount as needed.

6Place on floured surface.

7Roll and cut out.

8Place in baking pan; let rise 30 to 60 minutes.

9Bake at 350° until brown.
