- 1 1/2 c. milk, scalded
- 1/4 c. butter
- 3/4 tsp. salt
- 1/4 c. lukewarm water
- 3 Tbsp. sugar
- 4 1/2 c. flour
- 2 cakes yeast
Directions

1Mix butter, sugar and salt in warm milk.

2Dissolve yeast in warm water.

3When milk is lukewarm, add 2 cups flour, then yeast, then 2 cups more flour.

4Cover.

5Let rise in a warm place 15 minutes.

6Pinch off pieces the size of a walnut and place 3 in each section of a greased muffin tin.

7(Use rest of flour to dip fingers in while shaping dough.) Let set until double, about 15 minutes.

8Bake at 400° until golden brown.

9Brush with butter and remove from tin immediately.
