Ingredients
- 3 c. milk
- 12 c. flour
- 1 c. sugar
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1/2 c. butter
- 1/2 c. margarine
- 4 eggs
- 3 pkg. yeast (active dry)
- 1/2 c. warm water (105~ to 110~)
Directions

1Proof yeast with water; set aside 5 minutes.

2Scald milk with sugar and butter mixture.

3Cool to lukewarm.

4Place milk mixture in large mixing bowl, cool lukewarm.

5Add 3 cups flour, salt and yeast mixture.

6Blend until smooth paste.

7Add eggs to make batter.

8Add rest of flour to form dough.

9Knead 8 to 10 minutes until smooth; sit in warm place, covered, at 80° to 90° until double in size.

10Divide dough in 4 to make large loaves.

11Shape, place in greased loaf pan; allow to rise.

12Bake at 350° for 20 or 30 minutes.

13While hot, brush with milk and melted butter mixture.
