Ingredients

  • 1 c. pecans, grated or chopped fine as sand
  • 2 Tbsp. white sugar
  • 1/8 tsp. salt
  • 1 c. flour
  • 1/2 c. margarine or butter
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1/2 c. powdered sugar for final coating

Directions

    Measure and mix well all ingredients, except powdered sugar. Hand knead until it forms a soft, well blended ball.

    Pinch off small bits of dough.

    Roll in hand to make balls 1/2-inch in diameter.

    Place on cookie sheet and bake at 350° until golden brown or about 20 to 25 minutes.

    Remove and coat immediately with powdered sugar.

    When cool, coat again with powdered sugar.

    Store in sealed container.

    Makes 2 dozen.
