  • 2 -3 carrots, shredded
  • 2 small onions, shredded
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 dash pepper
  • 34 cup oil
  • 2 teaspoons prepared mustard
  • 1 teaspoon celery seed
  • 4 cups shredded cabbage

    A day ahead of time, put cabbage, carrots and onions in a large non metal bowl and chill.

    Combine remaining ingredients in a saucepan and bring to a boil.

    Pour over the vegetables, mix well.

    Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate overnight.

    Drain before serving if you wish.
