- 2 2/3 c. all-purpose flour
- 2 Tbsp. sugar
- 1 tsp. baking powder
- 1/2 tsp. baking soda
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1/2 c. shortening
- 1 pkg. dry yeast
- 1/4 c. warm water
- 1 c. buttermilk
- melted butter
Directions

1Cook sausage in skillet; drain well and set aside.

2Combine next 5 ingredients, mixing well.

3Cut in shortening with a pastry blender until mixture resembles coarse meal.

4Dissolve yeast in warm water; let stand 5 minutes.

5Add yeast mixture to buttermilk, stirring well.

6Add to dry ingredients, stirring until moistened. Knead in sausage.
