- 1 lb. sausage (links)
- 1 c. diced bacon
- 1 large onion, chopped
- 1 c. chopped celery
- 1/2 lb. fresh mushrooms. sliced
- 2 red skinned apples, cored and diced
- 1 c. chopped parsley
- 1 tsp. sage
- 1 tsp. thyme
- 1 loaf (1 lb.) firm type white bread, cut in 1-inch cubes
- 2 c. chicken broth
- salt and pepper to taste
Directions

1In a large skillet, fry the sausage and bacon until crisp and brown.

2Remove sausage and cut into 1-inch pieces.

3Replace in skillet and add onion, celery, mushrooms, apples, parsley and herbs.

4Saute, stirring occasionally for 5 minutes.

5Stir in bread cubes and chicken broth.

6Season to taste with salt and pepper.
