- 1/4 stick butter, for lining baking sheet plus 1 pound butter, softened
- 3 cups shredded Cheddar
- 4 cups all-purpose flour, plus more for kneading
- 1 tablespoon garlic salt
- 1/4 teaspoon cayenne
Directions

1Preheat oven to 375 degrees F.

2Line a metal half sheet baking pan (12 by 17-inches) with parchment paper and butter.

3In large bowl, mix together butter, cheese, flour, garlic salt and cayenne.

4Turn out onto floured surface; knead lightly to blend well.

5Spread evenly into prepared pan.

6Score, with a paring knife, into small squares or rectangles.

7Prick each square with a fork twice to make a cross shape.

8Bake for 20 minutes or until golden brown.

9Serve hot or cold.
