Savory Ham and Apple Bread Pudding

  • 3 whole Eggs
  • 1- 1/2 cup Milk (whole, Skim Or Almond Are Fine)
  • 1/4 teaspoons Allspice
  • 1/2 teaspoons Cinnamon
  • 18 teaspoons Thyme
  • 18 teaspoons Nutmeg
  • 8 slices Whole Wheat Bread, Cut Into Cubes
  • 1 whole Tart Apple, Like Granny Smith, Cored And Diced
  • 8 ounces, weight Chopped, Cubed Ham
  • 1 cup Shredded Applewood Smoked Gouda Or Sharp Cheddar Cheese
  • 1 Tablespoon Butter, Melted

Directions

    In a large bowl, whisk the eggs, milk and spices.

    Add bread cubes and stir well making sure to coat all the bread.

    Let it stand for 10 minutes.

    Preheat oven to 350 F.

    Add the apple, ham and half of the cheese to the soaked bread.

    Stir to combine then pour the mixture into a 9 x 9 baking dish.

    Drizzle the melted butter on top and cover with the remaining cheese.

    Let it stand for 10 more minutes to allow the bread to continue soaking up the liquid.
