  • 2 onions, cut in chunks
  • 4 carrots, cut in chunks
  • 4 slices bacon
  • 2 lb. stew meat
  • 1/3 c. flour
  • 1 clove garlic
  • 10 1/2 oz. can beef bouillon
  • 2 c. cranberry juice
  • 1 Tbsp. sugar
  • 6 crushed peppercorns
  • 4 whole cloves
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 1/2 tsp. marjoram
  • 1/4 tsp. thyme

    Put onion and carrot chunks in a large casserole.

    Fry bacon and add to casserole.

    Dredge meat in flour and quickly fry in bacon grease.

    Add to casserole.

    Saute garlic in same pan.
