  • 1 (6 oz.) bag cornbread stuffing
  • 1/2 c. melted butter or margarine
  • 1 large onion, finely chopped
  • 1 clove garlic, chopped
  • 6 large tomatoes, thinly sliced
  • salt

Directions

    Pour stuffing into bowl.

    In a skillet, heat butter and saute onion and garlic until golden.

    Pour mixture with pan drippings into stuffing.

    Stir until blended.

    Layer tomatoes and stuffing in a shallow 2-quart casserole dish, ending with a layer of stuffing.

    Sprinkle each layer of tomatoes with salt (lightly). Bake in a preheated 350° oven for 35 to 40 minutes or until brown and crusty on top.
