Ingredients
- 2 cups all-purpose flour (sifted) plus more for kneading.
- 1 Tablespoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 cup sugar plus more for the top of scones
- 3/4 cup semisweet chocolate chips
- 1 1/4 cups heavy cream
- 3 tablspoons butter, melted
Directions

1Preheat oven to 425 degrees.

2Sift together flour, baking powder, salt and sugar.

3Toss together with a fork to mix thoroughly.

4Mix in the chocolate chips (or any dried fruit - cranberries or blueberries are good).

5Pour in the cream and mix with the fork until the mixture holds together.

6Transfer onto a floured work surface and sprinkle lighlty with flour.

7Knead the dough 10 times, pushing it away from you with the heel of your hand.

8Pat into a 9 inch circle.

9Brush with melted butter and sprinkle with sugar.

10Cut the dough into 12 pie shaped wedges and transfer to baking sheet.

11Bake until the tops are golden brown, 15-17 mins.

12Serve warm with sweetened whipped cream.

13These are also good if you substitute the chocolate chips with dried cranberries/blueberries and 2 tablespoons of lemon zest or orange zest
