- 2 c. flour
- 1/2 c. sugar
- 2 tsp. cream of tartar
- 1 tsp. soda
- 3/4 tsp. salt
- 1/2 c. butter
- 1/2 c. sour milk or buttermilk
Directions

1Sift dry ingredients together.

2Blend in butter.

3Add sour milk.

4Turn out onto floured board.

5Pat or roll gently to 1/2 to 1-inch thick in a rectangle about 4 x 8 inches.

6Cut in 16 triangles.

7Place on baking sheet.

8Brush with egg wash.

9Bake in hot oven (400°) about 15 minutes.

10Makes 16 scones.
