  • 2 c. flour
  • 1/2 tsp. baking powder
  • 1 c. butter
  • 1/2 c. sugar
  • 1 beaten egg
  • grated rind of 1 lemon

Directions

    Sift together flour and baking powder.

    Cream the butter, adding sugar gradually. Add egg and lemon rind. Combine ingredients.

    Mixture will be very stiff.

    Place into buttered 8-inch square pans.

    Butter hands to spread mixture into corners. Bake at 300° for 30 minutes.
