- 4 c. rolled oats (uncooked, regular or quick)
- 2/3 c. melted margarine
- 1 c. brown sugar
- 1/2 c. dark corn syrup or honey
- 1 tsp. salt
- 3 tsp. vanilla
- 2 c. chocolate bits
- 1/2 c. chopped nuts
Directions

1Pour melted margarine over rolled oats.

2Mix thoroughly.

3Add remaining ingredients and mix well.

4Pack down firmly into well-greased 9 x 13-inch pan.

5Bake at 350° (300° in glass) for about 25 minutes until mixture is a rich brown color and bubbling. Remove from oven; cool slightly in pan, then cut into squares and remove.

6(If toffies harden before they are cut, reheat slightly.) Makes 24 squares.
