- 1 cup butter
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 1 egg yolk
- 2 cups all purpose flour more as needed
Directions

1In medium mixing bowl, soften butter slightly by creaming.

2Stir in sugar, salt and egg yolk.

3Add flour, a little at a time, until mixture is too stiff to work with a spoon.

4Turn out onto floured board and knead lightly, blending in more flour until dough begins to crack.

5Divide dough into 3 portions and pat into 6-inch circles on ungreased baking sheets.

6Pinch edges and prick all over with fork.

7Bake in 325 F. oven about 30 minutes or until pale golden brown.
