- 1/3 c. flour
- 3/4 c. corn meal
- 1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
- 1 Tbsp. sugar
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1 egg, beaten
- 2/3 c. milk
- 2 Tbsp. lard or oil
Directions

1Combine flour, baking powder and salt together. Cut in shortening, milk and egg.

2Add to dry ingredients.

3Stir only long enough to mix.

4Pour into greased pan (8 x 8-inch) and bake at 425° for 25 minutes.

5Butter top when done.
