  • 1/2 cup (1 stick) butter
  • 2 squares (2 ounces) semisweet chocolate
  • 2 eggs, well beaten
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup light corn syrup
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/8 teaspoon salt
  • 3/4 cup chopped or whole pecans (depending on your preference)
  • One 9-inch unbaked pie crust

    Preheat the oven to 325 degrees.

    Melt the butter and chocolate in a double boiler over hot water.

    Pour this into a bowl and add the beaten eggs, then stir in the sugar, corn syrup, flour, vanilla, and salt.

    Pour the filling into the crust and bake for about 30 minutes.
