Sherried Walnuts

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 c. sugar
  • 1/2 c. sherry
  • 1 1/2 tsp. lemon peel or orange peel
  • 1 tsp. white corn syrup
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 2 1/2 c. walnuts

    Mix everything except nuts in a 2 quart saucepan.

    Boil to the soft ball stage (238° on a candy thermometer).

    Remove from heat and add walnuts.

    Stir until creamy.

    Pour onto waxed paper and separate the walnuts with 2 forks.

    Let dry before packing in airtight container to store.
