  • 1 lb. light brown sugar
  • 3/4 c. margarine, softened
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 4 c. all-purpose flour
  • 2 1/4 c. boiling water
  • 1 Tbsp. baking soda
  • 1 c. barrel molasses

Directions

    Mix the first 4 ingredients together.

    Put aside a little more than a cup of crumbs.

    Add the remaining 3 ingredients.

    Mix and pour into a 9 x 13-inch ungreased pan.

    Pour remaining crumbs on top.

    Bake at 350° for 40 minutes, or until cake springs back from touch.
