- 2 c. flour
- 1 tsp. baking soda
- 1 refrigerated ready to bake pie shell
- 1 c. simmering water
- 1 c. light brown sugar
- 1 1/2 sticks butter
- 1 c. molasses
Directions

1Sift together the flour, sugar and baking soda.

2Using pastry cutter, food processor or 2 knives, cut 10 tablespoons of butter into flour mixture until mixture resembles coarse meal. Refrigerate.

3Line a 10-inch pie plate with pie crust; crimp edges.

4Preheat oven to 375°.

5Mix molasses and water; pour 1/3 of mixture into pie crust.

6Sprinkle with 1/3 of flour mixture. Repeat this process, alternating layers, ending with flour mixture.

7Dot top with remaining butter.

8Bake for 50 minutes. Serve warm or at room temperature.
