  • 2 lbs fresh shrimp, peeled and de-veined
  • 1 chinese turnip, grated
  • 12 cup soy sauce
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 12 teaspoons sugar
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 12 cup flour
  • 12 cup cornstarch
  • 12 cup water
  • 14 teaspoon salt

Directions

    Mix eggs, flour, cornstarch, 1/2 cup water, and salt.

    Boil soy sauce, 1 cup water, and sugar for 5 minutes.

    Dip shrimp into batter and fry in deep fat until golden brown.

    Drain on paper towels.

    Add grated turnip to sauce.

    Serve tempura on bed of lettuce leaves.
