Ingredients

  • 2 lb. medium to large shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 1 (28 oz.) can stewed tomatoes
  • 1 (28 oz.) can tomato sauce
  • 1 tsp. chili powder
  • 1 tsp. Tabasco sauce
  • 1 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1 green pepper, finely chopped
  • 1 stalk celery, minced
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 4 medium mushrooms, sliced
  • 1 Tbsp. flour
  • 2 Tbsp. oil
  • salt and black pepper to taste

Directions

    Use large skillet or Dutch oven.

    Brown flour in oil.

    Add onion, green pepper, celery, stewed tomatoes, tomato sauce and all other ingredients, except for mushrooms.

    Bring to simmer for 20 minutes.

    Add shrimp and mushrooms.

    Simmer for another 20 minutes.

    Serve over steamed white rice.

    Garnish with minced green onion.
