Ingredients

  • 1/2 c. chopped onions
  • 1/2 c. chopped celery
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 3 Tbsp. salad oil
  • 12 oz. raw shrimp, cleaned and deveined
  • 1/2 c. chopped green pepper
  • 1 can tomatoes
  • 1 can seasoned tomato sauce
  • 1 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. sugar
  • 1/2 to 1 tsp. chili powder
  • 1 Tbsp. Worcestershire sauce

Directions

    In hot oil, cook onions, celery and garlic until tender, but not brown.

    Add tomatoes, tomato sauce, salt, sugar, chili powder and Worcestershire sauce.

    Simmer for 45 minutes; thicken with cornstarch.

    Add shrimp and green pepper.

    Cover and simmer until done, about 5 minutes.

    Serve with rice.
