Ingredients

  • 1/2 c. chopped onions
  • 1/2 c. chopped celery
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 3 Tbsp. salad oil
  • 1 (1 lb.) can (2 c.) tomatoes
  • 1 (8 oz.) can seasoned tomato sauce
  • 1 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. sugar
  • 1 tsp. chili powder
  • 1 Tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
  • dash of Tabasco sauce
  • 1 tsp. cornstarch
  • 2 tsp. water
  • 12 oz. shrimp or sea legs
  • 1/2 c. chopped green peppers

Directions

    Cook onions, celery and garlic in hot oil until tender, but not brown.

    Add tomatoes, tomato sauce and seasonings.

    Simmer uncovered 45 minutes.

    Mix cornstarch with 2 teaspoons of water. Stir into sauce.

    Cook and add shrimp and peppers.

    Cook 5 minutes more.

    Serve over rice.
