Simple Salisbury Steak

Ingredients

  • 1 (10 3/4 oz.) can condensed cream of mushroom soup
  • 1 lb. ground beef
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 1 tsp. vegetable oil
  • 1/3 c. dry bread crumbs
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 1 1/2 c. sliced mushrooms (optional)

Directions

    In large bowl, mix 1/4 cup soup, beef, bread crumbs, onion and egg.

    Shape into 6 patties.

    In a 10-inch skillet on medium high heat, cook 1/2 patties in hot oil until brown on both sides. Remove and set aside.

    Repeat with rest of patties.

    In same skillet, combine remaining soup and mushrooms.

    Heat to boiling. Return patties to skillet.

    Reduce heat to low.

    Cover; cook for 20 minutes, or until patties are done, stirring occasionally.
