Slow Cooker Oatmeal

Ingredients
- 1 cup steel cut oats (dry)
- 1 1/2 cups water
- 2 cups milk (or vanilla almond milk)
- 2 -3 vanilla beans (or 1.5 teaspoons vanilla extract)
- 2 teaspoons cinnamon
- 3 tablespoons maple syrup
- 1/2 teaspoon sea salt (or to taste)
- 2 tablespoons flax seeds, ground (optional)
Directions

1grease the crockpot with either butter, margarine or coconut oil (or else your oatmeal will stick).

2Add ingredients and gently stir. Place the lid on the crockpot and turn on before going to bed. Let cook on low for 8 to 9 hours and wake to the smell of maple syrup and cinnamon.

3Top with your favourite toppings such bananas and chopped bittersweet chocolate , almonds and pecans, figs, dates, raisins, blueberries or chopped apples.
