Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 lbs. dry navy beans
  • 1 tbsp. instant chopped onion
  • 1 c. ketchup
  • 1 c. packed brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp. dry mustard
  • 1/4 c. dark molasses
  • 3 1/2 c. water
  • 1/4 pound bacon or possibly ham, diced sm.
  • 1 tbsp. salt

    Put beans in crock and cover with cool water.

    Soak 4 to 5 hrs or possibly overnight.

    Drain.

    Put in crock and add in all ingredients.

    Mix well.

    Cook on low setting 13 to 15 hrs.

    High setting 7 to 8 hrs.

    Makes 2 qts.
