- 2 sticks of butter, softened
- 1/2 c. vegetable shortening
- 3 c. sugar
- 5 eggs, separated
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 2 tsp. vanilla
- 3 c. flour
- 1/4 c. water
- 3/4 c. evaporated milk
Directions

1Cream butter, shortening and sugar until fluffy.

2Add egg yolks, salt and flavoring.

3Mix well.

4Add flour alternately with milk and water mixed together, blending well.

5Fold in stiffly beaten egg whites.

6Pour into a large greased and floured tube pan and place in cold oven.

7Turn oven temperature to 325 degrees. Bake for about 2 hours.
