Smothered Cabbage Wedge

  • 1 medium cabbage
  • 1/2 c. chopped bell peppers
  • 1/2 c. chopped onion
  • 4 Tbsp. butter
  • 1/4 c. flour
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 tsp. pepper
  • 2 c. milk
  • 1/2 c. mayonnaise
  • 3/4 c. shredded cheese
  • 3 Tbsp. chili sauce

Directions

    Cut cabbage into 8 wedges.

    Boil in salt water until tender. Drain well and place in baking dish.

    Cook peppers and onion until tender in pan.

    Add salt, pepper and flour, then milk.

    Cook until thick.

    Pour over cabbage.

    Bake, uncovered, at 375° in oven for 20 minutes; remove.

    Combine cheese, mayonnaise and chili sauce. Spoon over cabbage and bake 5 more minutes.
