  • 6 gar steaks
  • 1 clove garlic
  • 3/4 full skillet of cooking oil
  • season steaks to taste
  • 1 c. meal
  • 1 Tbsp. flour
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 tsp. pepper
  • 1/2 tsp. seasoned salt (optional)
  • 1 1/2 c. water

Directions

    Combine meal and flour and coat steaks.

    Fry in hot oil until done.

    Remove steaks and excess oil from skillet, leaving about 2 tablespoons and fish renderings.

    Add garlic and onions.

    Cook until soft.

    Add 2 cups of water; bring to a boil, stirring occasionally.

    Add steaks.

    Bring to boil again.

    Lower heat, cover and simmer.

    Serve with rice.
