Smothered Round Steak

- 3 round steaks
- 1 onion
- 1 bell pepper
- 3 sticks celery
- cooking oil
- seasonings to taste
Directions

1Brown steak in small amount of cooking oil in large skillet. When brown, set steak aside and then brown onion, pepper and celery.

2Cut steaks into serving portions and add to cooking pot with 3 to 5 cups boiling water, then add other ingredients and seasonings.

3Cover and simmer on low heat for about 2 1/2 hours. Add enough water to keep steak covered if necessary.

4Juice may be used as gravy.
