Ingredients

  • 3/4 c. sugar
  • 1/2 c. butter or margarine
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 tsp. vanilla
  • 1 1/2 c. all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 1/4 tsp. baking soda
  • 1/4 tsp. cream of tartar
  • 2 Tbsp. sugar
  • 2 Tbsp. ground cinnamon
  • shortening

Directions

    In large mixing bowl, cream sugar and margarine with a wooden spoon.

    Beat in egg and vanilla.

    In small bowl, stir together flour, salt, baking soda and cream of tartar.

    Stir into butter mixture until well mixed.

    In same small bowl combine 2 tablespoons sugar and the cinnamon.

    Turn oven to 375°.
