  • 1 c. shortening
  • 1 1/2 c. sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 3/4 c. flour
  • 2 tsp. cream of tartar
  • 1 tsp. soda
  • 1/2 Tbsp. sugar
  • 2 tsp. cinnamon

Directions

    Mix shortening, sugar and eggs.

    Sift together and stir in flour, cream of tartar, soda and salt.

    Roll into walnut-sized balls.

    Roll in sugar and cinnamon.

    Place 2 inches apart on greased cookie sheets.

    Bake at 350° to 375° until light brown, but still soft (12 to 15 minutes).
