  • 1 c. shortening
  • 1/2 c. sugar
  • 1/2 c. brown sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 c. oats
  • 2 c. sifted flour
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. soda
  • 2 tsp. sugar
  • 1 tsp. cinnamon

Directions

    Cream shortening and sugar.

    Add egg and oats; beat well. Sift flour, salt and soda.

    Blend into first mixture.

    Chill dough.

    Roll into balls the size of small walnuts.

    Dip in a mixture of sugar and cinnamon.

    Bake on ungreased baking sheet. Bake at 375° for 15 minutes or until golden brown.
