Ingredients

  • 1 c. shortening
  • 1 1/2 c. sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 3/4 c. flour
  • 1 tsp. soda
  • 2 tsp. cream of tartar
  • 1/2 tsp. salt

Directions

    Chill dough; roll into balls (size of a walnut).

    Roll balls in mixture of 1 tablespoon sugar and 2 tablespoons cinnamon. Place about 2 inches apart on ungreased baking sheet.

    Bake until lightly browned, but still soft, at 400° for 8 to 10 minutes. Makes about 5 dozen.
