  • 1 cup butter, softened (no substitute)
  • 1 14 cups confectioners sugar, divided
  • 1 teaspoon grated orange peel
  • 12 teaspoon orange extract
  • 12 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 14 teaspoon salt
  • 12 cup walnuts, finely chopped
  • 12 cup hazelnuts, finely choped

Directions

    In a large bowl, cream butter and 3/4 cup confectioners sugar until light and fluffy.

    Blend in orange peel and extracts.

    Combine flour and salt; gradually add to creamed mixture and mix well.

    Stir in nuts.

    Shape into 3/4-inch balls.

    Place 1-inch apart on ungreased baking sheets.

    Bake at 350F for 10-12 minutes or until bottoms are lightly browned.
