- 1 pkg. dry yeast
- 2 Tbsp. sugar or honey
- 1 tsp. salt
- 2 c. flour
- 2 1/2 c. warm water (110~ to 115~)
Directions

1In large glass or pottery bowl combine yeast, sugar, salt and flour.

2Gradually add water, while beating, until smooth.

3Cover with plastic wrap or a damp cloth and let stand 2 days at room temperature.

4Beat before using.

5After using, add 1 cup each flour and warm (not hot) water to remaining starter and beat until smooth.

6Store in refrigerator in a large glass jar or crock with a tight-fitting lid, allowing room for expansion.
