Ingredients

  • 1 medium to large onion
  • 1 tender heart of celery with leaves, chopped
  • 1 or 2 small cans mushrooms
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • few sprigs parsley
  • 2 or 3 bay leaves
  • 1 Tbsp. Italian seasoning
  • 1 or 2 pinches basil
  • 1 tsp. sugar
  • 1 small can tomato paste
  • 2 (15 oz.) cans tomato sauce
  • 1 qt. home canned tomatoes
  • 1 lb. ground beef

    Saute onion and celery in a little oil.

    Add remaining ingredients and simmer a couple hours, then add browned ground beef.
