- 1 lb. ground beef
- 2 (15 oz.) cans tomato sauce
- 1 can tomato paste (6 oz.)
- 1 can whole tomatoes (14.5 oz.)
- 1 medium onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 Tbsp. olive oil
- 1 Tbsp. Italian seasoning
- 1 bay leaf
- 1 tsp. pepper
- 1/4 tsp. hot pepper (optional)
- 1 tsp. sugar
Directions

1In a 2-quart saucepan over medium heat, saute onion and garlic in olive oil.

2Add ground beef; brown.

3Drain off fat.

4Add tomato sauce and tomato paste.

5Chop whole tomatoes and add to pot. Sprinkle with sugar, Italian seasoning (oregano, basil, rosemary, sage, marjoram and thyme), pepper and add bay leaf.

6Also, add hot pepper.

7Simmer for at least one hour uncovered.

8Serve over cooked spaghetti noodles.
