Ingredients
- 1 Tbsp. olive oil
- 1 onion, chopped
- 1 lb. ground round
- 1 garlic clove
- 1 (28 oz.) can tomatoes
- 1 (6 oz.) can tomato paste
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1 tsp. oregano
- 1 green pepper, chopped
- 1/2 c. water
- 1 bay leaf
- 1/2 tsp. pepper
Directions

1In 3-quart container, heat olive oil.

2Saute onion and green pepper.

3Set aside.

4Brown meat; drain and add to onion mixture. Mix thoroughly.

5Crush tomatoes.

6Remove pulp.

7Add to mixture. Add tomato paste, water and all seasonings.

8Bring to slow boil. Be careful not to burn.

9Lower heat and allow to cook down about 1-inch from top of container or until sauce thickens to your liking.

10Makes about 6 cups.

11Serve over hot pasta.
