Ingredients

  • 1 lb. ground chuck
  • 1/2 c. chopped onion
  • 1 small green pepper, chopped
  • 1 c. celery, chopped
  • 1 medium carrot, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 1/2 c. water
  • 2 (14 1/2 oz.) cans diced tomatoes
  • 1 (13 to 15 oz.) jar spaghetti sauce
  • 1 Tbsp. sugar
  • 1/2 tsp. Italian seasonings, crushed
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/4 tsp. pepper
  • 2 lb. spaghetti, broken into 2-inch pieces

Directions

    In Dutch oven, brown meat, onion, green pepper, celery, carrot and garlic until tender.

    Drain off fat.

    Add water, tomatoes, sauce, sugar and seasonings.

    Bring to boil.

    Add spaghetti; reduce heat.

    Boil gently, uncovered, 12 to 15 minutes until spaghetti is tender.
